We did some R&D on Nicks '51 Chevy for the rear air bag setup. It's
a nice simple design to minimize the sheet metal work, which we are in
the stages of making new tubs that will allow a lower stance with a
26" tall tire. This kit will be available for sale in the weeks to
come, along with our new front suspension setup!

Brian was building a set of stainless pipes for this CFL that had been heavily modified! But after looking at the bike, he had done alot of small fabrication to it. Our good buddy Josh has been a great/patient customer. He dropped his 64 F100 off for us to do a bag job on. This truck has been waiting awhile, but it will be rolling down to FL to meet up with Josh this weekend!! Custom built TBC upper and lower link bars, custom TBC cantilever front bag mount, dual Viar 480, six valve four switch system supplying four SS7 bags. Complete with an aluminum Winters rear end housing stuffed with Strange Engineering Axles and capped with Strange Engineering discs with billet 4 piston calipers.

Our buddy Ed stopped by with his freshly finished 1973 Duster for a few last minute steering adjustments. Complete tube cage and chassis work performed by TBC, sheet metal modifications by TBC, interior sheet metal by TBC, and to make it all look good at 100+MPH, a beautiful peral white paint job from Atomic Paint. Only thing left now is to ask Ed where he wants the TBC decal!!! Look for Ed and this wicked Duster at The World Finals in Petersburg VA on 15Oct.

So we finished up the nightmare of the 55 Dodge Job Rated. Our good buddy Chris from Downshift Studios came down this past Sunday and spent the entire day shooting the truck for the Australian based Deadbeat Magazine. Had a lot of fun that day! Had Otis pulling traffic duty and crowd control, (blocking intersections with the "Fiddy" and laying it out), just basically rolled around from location to location chillin watching our brother work. Yes, that's a BMW 650 engine! I was approached by a guy by the name of Chris Dresch who wanted me to build a replica of a 1930 Dresch. It all started from 1x2 box tubing and ended up a one off custom frame. The frontend will be a handmade item also along with all the other parts that it will take to finish this one of a kind build. There's still alot of work ahead of us, so check back often as we continue to finish this build!

Dresch Motorcycle - Tim Bradham's Chassis Works

Here is something that is quite interesting and a damn amazing project in the works. Tim is a custom builder, fabricator and hot rod enthusiast generally specializing in four wheeled construction. Being an individual that continually seeks out new challenges, a customer walked in one day, aptly named Dresch and asked if he could build a vintage Dresch inspired bike based on the lesser known French Motorcycle company that operated from 1923 to 1948. Dresch's motorcycles ranged from 98cc single-cylinder machines to 750cc four-cylinder models.

Tim's clients Dresch is powered by a single cylinder BMW donor bike for the engine and wheels. This bike is being built from scratch and will be unlike anything else out there. Hell, isn't that the gist of a custom build, instead of the general notion of assembly from a catalog. Congrats are in order to figuring out this visual puzzle with no original parts to scope out, no concrete numbers on frame specs and nothing but a donor bike and an idea.

The Man behind Atomic Paint by TBC!!

His name is Adam Oldham or "The Bomb" by many. Adam is a straight forward kinda of guy who has many talents under is belt. He's been to L.A. and worked on props for the movies like Jack Ass!!
Adam as always been a big supporter of TBC, so when he came back to N.C. he came in to take care of the front office, doing all the art and web design for the shop. About a year ago we came accross another shop, being that it had a professional paint booth. Adam was game in getting back into painting. From bike paint to full car restorations he has tackled it all. So saying that Adam is a asset to the name Atomic Paint/TBC, well he is the man behind the mask!

Here we are again with a badass hot rod from our brothers over at Road Devils CC Devil’s Brigade. This is Jefe’s 1930 Ford 5 Window Coupe “Dimes”. They are building it for Viva Las Vegas 14. Jefe and the Devil’s Brigade will be driving out to Vegas from North Carolina and filming a documentary during the trip (Read about it here.) They will be raising money for the Task Force Dagger Foundation for combat wounded soldiers and their families. This is really awesome and we are going to support them any way we can. These pics were provided to us and shot by Jefe.

Today I will talk about some of my brothers in the Road Devils Car Club up here in Harrisburg, PA. I just happened to have a gig out here and had the pleasure of seeing how guys with the same mind set, same passions as I do and most people reading this blog. I got to hang out and take some pics and try some apple pie moonshine. So to my brothers Mike, Nico, Brad and Joel, It was my honor and pleasure meeting you all. Mike has a 7 story building that truly is a one stop shop. We did a tour of it and there was history all over the place. To see just the fabrication done for the wood burning stove was amazing. I haven’t started taking good pics yet but I will get better over time. We left his shop and headed across the river to brad’s house and his garage. As we sat and talked about the projects they had and I got to add my 2 cents in about all the things I have learned on 'C' notching, 'Z'-ing frames and pie cutting for chop jobs, etc. I was feeling pretty good, and then I realized I was over a 12 pack in and I had to brief a lot of important people the next day! It is incredible how good it is to sit around and meet with guys the first time and how much everyone has in common and see that their lifestyles are not that much different from the rest of us. (even if they are Yankees!)

I built this car some years ago for Tim Lyons. When things got rough for Tim, he had to make that decision that none of us want to make which was to sell the car. John Macdonald picked the car up and installed his engine combo. and went racing. It took awhile for the tune of 2100 hp to be applied to the 28x10.5 tires, but crew chief Kim Mapes managed to make it happen. Running a best of 7.28 in the 1/4 and 194 to 197 mph speeds, they put themselves on top to be the ones to beat!
John had a great 2010 season. With help from crew chief Kim Mapes, they went down the last race in a attempt to win the championship. Falling short of 10 points, and fighting head issues he took 2nd for the NMRA season.
With the PRI show being good for picking up some sponsors. John and Kim are already putting a new engine combo together. TBC will be helping out in trying to make the 2011 a championship season!!

Robert Morris / TBC '68 Pro Mod Camaro

After helping out Robert Morris with his 10.5 Outlaw Mustang which ran 4.90's 1/8 mile. Robert came down and talked to us about building him a new car. His choice was a '68 Camaro. Being a Tim McAmis dealer, we ordered Robert a body and chassis kit (unwelded). After having a very successful 2010 test/race season with running a best of 1.03 60 ft and a 4.58 1/8 mile run on one stage. Robert wanted to change up the 2011 season up with a new combo, the BBC will sport a 14-71 blower set-up with a fresh bottom end. We will have the Camaro back soon to switch over for the Blower set-up, and hope to be testing within weeks to come!

Ralph's 25.1 Camaro

Ralph has become a good friend to TBC, after building a '68 Camaro Pro Mod for Robert of "Auto Tech" here in town. He really liked the quality and craftsmanship of the Pro Mod. After sitting down with Ralph he decided to let us loose on a complete rebuild. We cut everything out and started building a state of the art bullet-proof 25.1 chassis able to withstand the BBC combo. TBC is working hard on completing this build to get Ralph back on the track for 2011.

TBC Custom Upper & Lower '97-'04 F-150 Control Arms

We are gear heads through and through here at TBC and love to work on all types of vehicles. Vince was looking for someone to build him a set of custom tubular upper and lower control arms for his bagged out F-150 and brought it to us for a quality job.

'C' Notching Elwood's 1950 Chevy Frame

Got a little more work done on Elwood's '50 Chevy frame last night.

Not being happy with the stepped notch design that the previous owner had installed, we decided to cut them out and fabricate our own 'C' notch sections to replace them with. We wanted the frame to flow and look as if the notches were not an afterthought...I think we're on the right track!!
